Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need any experience to start?
No experience is required. Many students start with no background in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu or martial arts. Classes are structured to make beginners feel welcome and supported.
Am I “too old” or “out of shape” to start BJJ?
No. BJJ is highly adaptable and focuses on technique rather than athleticism. You can start at any age and progress at your own pace.
Is BJJ safe?
Yes. Safety is a top priority. Techniques are taught with control, and you’re encouraged to tap early and communicate with your training partners. Coaches closely supervise all classes.
What should I wear to class?
For your free trial, wear comfortable athletic clothing such as a t-shirt and shorts or leggings. We’ll help you with uniform (gi) options if you continue training.
Will I be sparring right away?
Live training is introduced gradually. You’ll never be forced to spar, and you can always choose how intensely you participate.
How often should I train?
Most beginners start with 2–3 classes per week, but even once a week is a great place to begin. We’ll help you find a schedule that fits your goals and lifestyle.
