Frequently Asked Questions
Does my teen need any experience to start?
No experience is required. Many teens start with no background in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu or martial arts. Classes are structured to support beginners while still challenging experienced students.
Will my teen be training with adults?
No. Teens train in a dedicated class with others their own age. This helps create a comfortable learning environment and ensures training intensity is appropriate.
Is Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu safe for teens?
Yes. Safety is a top priority. Techniques are taught with control, and coaches closely supervise all training. Teens learn how to train responsibly and communicate with their partners.
What should my teen wear to class?
For the free trial, comfortable athletic clothing such as a t-shirt and shorts or leggings is perfect. We’ll help with uniform (gi) options if they continue training.
Will there be sparring?
Live training is introduced gradually and in a controlled manner. Teens are never forced to spar and are encouraged to participate at a level they’re comfortable with.
How often should teens train?
Most teens start with 1–2 classes per week. As confidence and interest grow, many choose to train more often.
